Participatory Approach to Climate Change Migitation and Forest Restoration in the Muringato Catchment Area (MC2FM Project)

Project details:

The overall project objective is to incorporate a participatory approach to the development and implementation of the mitigations measures to address the environmental challenges observed within the Muringato sub-catchment area in central Kenya during the first phase of the CITGI4Muringato project. This will be achieved through the following objectives:

Objective 1 : Assessment of the crop phenological shifts within the basin as a result of climate change/variability

Objective 2 : Developing an early warning system to inform farmers and Community Forest Associations (CFAs) about critical soil moisture, crop yield values and prevailing weather conditions

Objective 3 : Promotion of the community participation in environmental conservation
